When you order from Trending T-Shirts, your tee does not come off a shelf. It is printed after you click buy. Here is why we work that way and what it means for you.
What is print on demand?
Print on demand means each item is produced only when it is ordered. Instead of printing hundreds of shirts in every size and colour and hoping they sell, we send each order to a print studio with a high-resolution design file. The studio prints it, packs it and ships it to you.
How the printing works
Our tees use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing. Think of a very large, very precise inkjet printer for fabric. Water-based inks are sprayed straight into the cotton fibres, so the print feels soft and breathes with the shirt, unlike the thick plastic feel of a heat transfer. DTG also handles detail and colour gradients that old-school screen printing struggles with.
Why it is better for you
- A bigger range: we can offer every design in several colours and sizes without stocking them all.
- New designs fast: when a phrase takes off, we can have it in the shop in days.
- Less waste: nothing is printed unless someone wants it, so there is no unsold stock headed for landfill.
The trade-off
Made-to-order takes a few extra days. Printing usually takes 2-5 business days before your parcel ships. We think a tee made just for you is worth the short wait. See our shipping page for full timings.
